Transfer from the hotel to Plaza de la Concepción to board La Valerosa, which departs at 16:30. This is a 2-hour and 20-minute journey along a branch of the Magdalena River (the Mompox branch), sailing upstream toward a town called Troncosito, Magdalena. Mompox’s infrastructure can be observed from a different perspective, and along the route there is birdwatching of migratory and local species such as herons, kingfishers, cormorants, among others. A beautiful sunset is enjoyed, with a colorful sky reflected on the river. On the return to the city, Mompox is seen at night, admiring the illuminated albarrada of Mompox—an image that will remain in your memories and make your visit to Mompox unforgettable. Arrival at the pier and return to the hotel on your own, walking. We suggest continuing to enjoy the Momposina night with a tasting at La Isla craft brewery and sharing some appetizers.

At the scheduled time, a visit will be made to the Wamaris filigree workshops, where the process of making jewelry using this technique is shown, and where visitors can appreciate the materials and the tradition that has been preserved to this day; each piece is unique. Free time for lunch. 

At 14:00, after the sun has gone down a bit, we will begin our tour by motorcycle taxi to reach the Church of Santa Bárbara, where we will start a walk along the albarrada to see the stone with the dates of Bolívar’s visits, the Minor Basilica of the Most Holy Christ, the Portales de la Marquesa, until arriving at Café 1700 to enjoy a granita-style coffee (direct payment at the restaurant).

At 15:00, a canoe will be boarded to tour the Pijiño marsh, located in one of the branches of the Magdalena River. During the journey, an immersive experience with the area’s nature will be enjoyed. It is possible to see different species of riverside birds such as herons; birds like the kingfisher or the yellow-hooded blackbird (Chrysomus icterocephalus); palmipeds such as the cormorant; and reptiles like the iguana and the spectacled caiman, a species native to South American rivers. This will be a relaxing ecotourism experience with plenty of learning. In the evening, we suggest dinner at Santa Coa Restaurant, specializing in seafood—a gastronomic concept wrapped in the history and magic of the City of God.

Breakfast at the hotel. Free time to visit the cemetery, one of the town’s many attractions, taste corozo wine—a fruit native to the Caribbean region—and see how the well-known queso de capa is made. Return to the hotel.
